The Beaches of Paraty

Paraty offers more than 40 beaches in its bay, many of them accessible only by sea. Some are very visited, others are wild. But all offer the opportunity to relax and enjoy the always warm and clear waters.

There are two beaches (praias) close to the historic city of Paraty

Praia do Pontal

The Beach of Pontal is the closest beach to the historic center.

Praia do Jabaquara

It is the next beach after passing the hill of the Fortress Defensor Perpétuo

Praia do Corumbê

Located at the road Rodovia Rio -Santos

Praia Grande e Prainha

Praia Grande is a fishermen´s village with a beach, from where boat trips ti the Island of Araújo are offered.  A short path leads to the beach of Prainha

Praia do Iriri

From Road Rio – Santos there is an exit to the beach of Iriri

Praias de São Gonçalo e São Gonçalinho

A place which tourists like a lot. To arrive at the beach it is necessary to cross a small river

Praia da Cabana (Taritubinha)

Praia da Cabana is half hidden on the Rio – Santos highway and has a trail to access.

Praia do Coqueiro

This beautiful corner of our municipality is 44 km (27 miles) far from the Historic Center towards Rio de Janeiro by the BR-101.

Paraty Mirim

During the 18th and 19th centuries, Paraty-Mirim was an important alternative commercial port to the port of Paraty.
