“Paraty em Foco” is an international photography festival held annually in Paraty, since 2005. It is the oldest uninterrupted photography festival in Brazil.
The event was conceived by the Italian-Brazilian Giancarlo Mecarelli, who moved to Paraty in 2002, founding the Zoom Photography Gallery. Paraty em Foco is characterized by the presentations made in the series of Meetings and Interviews, which has already brought together great names in Brazilian and international photography. Other outstanding activities are the exhibitions, with several large external exhibitions, the Portfolio in Focus Convocation, one of the main Brazilian awards, Workshops and the Projection Tent.
