Praia Grande (Large Beach) located north of Paraty with access from Rio-Santos. It’s not a good beach for swimming but it’s a beautiful setting. From its end there is a trail (5 minutes on foot) to Prainha (Small Beach), a picturesque and small beach with a bar above it.
It is a fishing village where there is a market, bakery, fishmonger, bars and a restaurant, the “Quiosque São Francisco” which is located on the beach of the village pier. To get there from Paraty, take the BR 101 towards Rio and approximately 6 km after leaving the Paraty interchange, turn right where there is a sign indicating Praia Grande. There is parking in front of the pier.
